Other Relevant Information

  • The issuance of a visa is a discretionary act of the Republic of Brazil. Since this is a purely discretionary act, there can be no guarantees regardless of the circumstances presented. A visa can be granted, denied, extended or changed according to national interests, even if it is a visa previously authorized. A visa is not a right in itself, but an expectation to be admitted.

Whenever there is a doubt on the purpose of the trip, the identity of the applicant, or if the applicant is aggressive or disrespectful with the Consular personnel, the visa can be denied or one also may be required to be interviewed by a consular officer, who may request additional documents or information.

    The applicant must collect
    her/his passport
    in person

    at the Consular Section.

  • In times of heavy workload waiting times will increase. Therefore, do not leave your application to the last minute and do not commit yourself to travel plans until you know when your visa will be issued.

  • General conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
