The NGO Action Aid (www.actionaid.org) , one of the most active international agencies for food safety and nutrition has recently published the report “Who’s really fighting hunger”, which shows Brazil in first place among 29 developing countries, followed by China and Ghana.

The report mentions the advances of Brazilian legislation in this area, and dedicates a specific analysis to the “Bolsa Familia”, considered to be the biggest program of income transfer in the world: social inequality in the country has dropped 4.6% since its inception. The set of Brazilian public policies on food safety which were devised and implemented in the past few years has cut child malnutrition by 73% . |
